Our extensive machining experience and the use of high-end CAM software benefit our customers in both the tool manufacture and the production machining and turning environment. High precision and quality of machining are critical when manufacturing press tools to tight tolerances.

Canterbury Tools regularly machine high strength tool steels heat treated up to 70R, and it is our standard policy to finish all die and punch forms post heat treatment for the highest accuracy.

Our customers can provide CAD data in either 2D or 3D format. We can also reverse engineer existing dies when previous CAD data is no longer available.
 

Wire erosion


Wire erosion is an integral process within any tool making company. As an early adaptor into this process in the late 1980s, Canterbury Tools have gained extensive experience in both 2 and 4 axis wire erosion.

We also offer a subcontract wire erosion service to multiple industries. Customers can provide the CAD data in either 2D or 3D format. We can also reverse engineer existing dies when previous CAD data is no longer available.

2D and 3D Inspection and reverse engineering

 
Utilising the latest scanning technology, Canterbury Tools provide a full inspection and reverse engineering service. Parts from tooling are conventionally probed or scanned to provide inspection reports. This technology is integrated into VISI reverse. This allows us to reverse engineer existing dies and components where CAD detail is unavailable.
